In case you haven’t heard…
Wait… how did Simba get there?
Oh right…
BECAUSE THIS ISN’T A BAD THING.
Why this isn’t a bad thing
———————————–
So right now I’m sure a lot of you are going, “But JMTD, how is this not a bad thing?
Okay, let me rephrase that, one or two of you are going, “But JMTD, how is this not a bad thing?” Must of you are going, “But Random Internet Blogger Dude…”
Let me explain.
Do you guys remember the last three movies? Do you guys really really remember the last three movies? Anakin Skywalker? Padme? Jesus Babies? Waldo? Podraces? Referential Throwbacks out the wazoo? MIDICHLORIANS??
Now look back and see how many of your childhood memories have been destroyed or eradicated by Disney?
That lack of response is better than me filling it up with “Exactly.”
Lucasarts has been single-handedly messing up the Star Wars universe for a while now. The majority of people’s good star wars memories from the past ten years have been at the fault of someone else.
But the point being that, Disney knows movies.
Now I’m sure that people will be quick to point out that Disney isn’t above Pandering Sequels, so its no surprise that coupled with today’s announcement was the announcing of the first sequel movie in several years, Star Wars 7.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Disney is the Messiah of our Sci-Fi wet dreams. But Disney has “assumed direct control” (Stop that!) of Lucasarts and surely it can’t be a bad thing. This may mean that we’ll be forced to yet another trilogy of sequels that aren’t worthy of the original series yes, but holy crap guys, this is the first time in twenty years that George Lucas won’t be trying to make the series good again. No more re-releases that destroy the sanctity of the original films. NONE OF IT.
MAYBE.
At least I hope so.
No, this shift can mean an entire change in direction for the Star Wars universe. This could mean that we’ll potentially see, well we will see a new trilogy, we might see Battlefront 3, we could see a whole slew of new things.
But naturally.
This obviously means that Kingdom Hearts is going to be set in the star wars universe!!
But in all seriousness, I realize that Disney is eventually going to own the United States, but lets look forward to some quality product. Less Force Unleashed and Clone Wars, more battlefront and Kingdom Hearts!
